This Painting was completed on location in July  Overlooking West Cliff Santa Cruz.
My inspiration came from the Zen feeling of simplicity this day.   The calm serene sea, clear skies and fresh smell of ocean air. I could see the Monterey hills covered in a distant fog .  This painting is about serenity , relaxation and calmness. I wanted to capture the feeling of reading  near the sea.  Birds were keeping me company.
Painting outdoors helps me enjoy life . I hope you too experience this when viewing my paintings.
